On 8th of December still 2007, strictly at hero's of the occasion birthday, a traditional festival took place. Of course, the event was dedicated to Jim Morrison and The Doors. How it turned to us, the Fun Fair band members? See below. «The program for this evening is not new…»
Despite few moments – lot of The Doors admirers were left behind Paspartu club door (sure the limit of 200 people from club administration worked that night), the delay (minutes past 19 instead 18-00) – we want to share more of the show moments. So, let's start in order. Doza – tha band played mostly their own set and the influence of The Doors on that was obvious. Quite unusual sound for that style, turntables mixed with guitars and acoustic drums and the relaxed vocalist behavior started the show nicely, the audience woke up. Ereneria – the guys gave a nice "The Doors, genuine" push to the crowd. The band performed Strange Days, Five to One and some other good songs as well. Your humble servants were preparing to hit the stage at the moment, so we could not see the performance. But as we heard from people's reaction, the motion expanded. Fun Fair - so here we are. Honestly speaking, a burst of "Yeah!!!" in answer to our first «Is everybody in?...» took us aback for a while - we had such a responsive audience for the first time (here big thanks goes to previous bands, also to Doza's vocalist for opening «Is everybody in?»-ing season that night). But move, move on. “Wake up!”, declamation, singin' «Poor Otis…» and almost unbreakable (well we had one break for Jim to be shot) set: - Break On Through - You Make Me Real - People Are Strange - Love Me Two Times - Waiting For the Sun - Backdoor Man Having a great suppurt from the audience, we tried our best. What a pity, you cannot see yourself as a spectator! :). So after finishing the performance we joined the crowd and watched the last two bands of the evening. Angie Nears – as always, strong, bluesy. The Doors music is still alive, shown by their “20th Century Fox”, “Riders On the Storm”, (almost no difference from original record here!), the auditorium was flowing in emotions. And of course stunning «Light My Fire» for the final. Den' Zacshity Detey – the historical Morrison fest founders had some night. Started from groovy “Roadhouse Blues”, guys went to romantic “Touch Me”, “Crystal Ship”… But the candies were reserved for the end. Yep, fellas, that was “The End” in almost original sound and feeling. No one in the club stayed calm that minutes. And it was, for sure, the best way to end the festival. We say great thanks to our supporters for that evening! It's from the Fun Fair band, the following: Nick tried on the new Guitar Hero image :) looks good, eh? No Manzarek, but who knows, also playing the Alesis :) (oh, my, that was shot on occasion, I realised there's some similarity only today as I write this... :) wikimedia.org Serge is gogreous in traditional Mexican dressing. But that's not all! It covers some secret T-shirt! Watch the updates on our website and you'll see it. Lesha is working in the good mood :) You really saved us playing that evening despite your ailing. Well, we had to shoot the vocalist. More on such events - see here. Full photo coverage of our participance in the event is located in Irene's web album. |
